Hubron J. Garcia

Hubron J. Garcia (Joe), 85 of Las Cruces, died December 26, 2017. Joe was born September 5, 1932 in San Antonio, TX, to Abram and Lucy Garcia. Joe served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1948 - 1951. Joe had been a plumber at New Mexico State University, Physical Plant Department, for over 30 years.
Joe is survived by his wife of 34 years, Jenny Lee Garcia. He is also survived by son, David J. Garcia, daughter, Darlina McGrath, son, Richard S. Garcia and daughter, Diana G. Parra and husband Richard Parra. Joe is also survived by his grandchildren: Christopher Carlson and wife, Faira, Michelle Sainz and husband, Levi, Joshua Carlson and partner, Kathy Apodaca, Richard Garcia and partner, Brenda Acura, Matthew Garcia and wife, Samantha, Luis Garcia and wife Emily; and great grandchildren: Brenden, Alexis, Kaitlynn, Noah, Aiden, Alma, Liam, Oscar, Junior, Adam, Avery and several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by stepchildren, Lisa Flores, Cameron Flores, George Flores, wife Susan Flores, Tom Flores, and Julie Flores. Step-grandchildren, April Flores, Michael Flores, David Flores, Christopher Melon, Brianna Flores, Lisa Fant and husband Dusty Fant.
Joe was preceded in death by his former wife, Amelia M. Garcia, son-in-law, Peter McGrath, brothers, David Garcia and Richard Garza.
Joe will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held from 5 pm to 8 pm, Tuesday, January 2, 2018 with a rosary at 7 pm at Getz Funeral Home. Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10 am, Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Burial to follow at Masonic Cemetery.
